loving the lost
We've already seen 38 baptisms in 2010. On Sunday, August 29, 2010, Morehouse College sophomore David Foy became the first baptism of the semester for the GACC Campus Ministry. Growing up in the Church of Christ, David rebelled against God but has now returned to his Father. We are also so proud of campus student Jade Franklin who made the pledge of a clear consience towards God when she was baptized on July 14, 2010. She is the newest member of the growing Clayton State University Bible Talk.
God moved in a powerful way at our Worship Service on July 11, 2010. First, 16-year-old Xavier Williams was baptized into Christ after his older sister Tasha Holloway was baptized just a couple of months ago. He came to see her baptism and never left! After the baptism, we learned that a husband of a disciple that has been studying the Bible for two years decided during the message that he wasn't going to leave until he was baptized. Danny Spohn works as a firefighter and said he would not go into another burning building until he was right with God. The brothers counted the cost with Danny and he was baptized after our leaders meeting.
Rising sophomore at Morehouse College, Ricardo Dunmoodie, was baptized June 24, 2010 for the forgiveness of his sin and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).
We recently saw Betty Jean Reid, the mother of Women's Ministry Leader Shawn Patterson, take the plunge of faith on May 19th. The following Sunday, Georgia State student Stephanie Williams got baptized and became a disciple of Jesus!
Clayton State University student Mathieu Predenrgast (pictured right) was baptized on May 9, 2010 after being reached out about a year ago.
After two encouraging "Women's Day" events in April, the sisters are bearing much fruit to God's glory. On April 28th, the single women baptized Angelica Jones and at our Worship Service on May 2nd, there were 3 campus women baptized into Christ!
Our first teen baptism happened on April 7, 2010. Joshua Amichia was baptized by his sister Jennifer, a GSU student who was baptized on January 24, 2010!
Jermaine Donaldson was baptized on February 21, 2010 and later baptized his wife Kiki (pictured left).
Two campus men, Quay Manuel and DeAndre LeVarity, were baptized at the Festival of Faith Worship Service on Valentine's Day. We are also thanking God for our newest single sister, Karlen Marshall, who took the dip on February 10.
Three of them, Christian, Dana and Geoffrey, were all baptized during our recent Worship Service on February 7, 2010. Georgia State University student Jennifer Amichia was baptized on January 24, 2010. She was invited out by her roommate, Latoya Belton, who was just baptized December 16, 2009. Latoya also invited out Toren Robinson, who became a disciple December 20, 2009, along with his spiritual twin Chelsea Curry. Chelsea is one of the many baby Christians in the Singles Ministry.
